Well, yeah, but there's loads of people with stronger and more impressive abilities than me.

Ah. How long have you had those powers, anyway? Mine seem to get stronger every day.

I was born with them. It's kind of how powers usually go in my world. They don't get any stronger unless I practice with 'em, though.

Rough world?

Bomb just went off in Empire City. Government pretty much decided to wall off the entire city with the excuse of some sort of plauge, and the entire place is overrun by gangs warring and shooting up everyone they see.

Yeeesh. And you're stuck in there?

Yeah. Tried breaking out. Didn't really work so well. Ended up working with the Feds who want me to find an agent of there's who was looking for information on the bomb and to locate it in exchange for letting me out of the city.

Turns now that bomb is actually something that kills several people in order to give someone super-powers.

--Wait. So then, your powers are...

Yeah. Exactly that.

For some reason someone wanted me to deliver it somewhere than then set the thing off.

I just happened to be the lucky bastard that didn't end up dead.
