Organization go!

[Morrison looks exhausted and fairly frustrated, but you might be able to catch a hint of triumph in his expression]

All right, I've just returned from the council. They've granted joint investigation rights to Devorah and Aenathia, and I will be heading my own investigation. With our current manpower, no more than five Enforcers may work under any of us, and the Council has said they retain the rights to reorganize the groups if they see fit. When you are all organized, come let us know who you'll be working with, and we'll get this investigation underway.

[Aaaah, the guilt. Ivan presses on. If he get the man to focus on the thoughts he wants to grab, things will go much smoother and the interview could conclude in a matter of minutes.]

It's just . . . The world has vanished and it's been said that things like this have happened before. But what happens to the inhabitants? They don't all just . . . die?

. . . I see. And what about people who aren't from that world who happened to be there? Is Confuto Ordinatio able to retrieve them?

[Now, if any, is the time that the Sergeant would flash across the man in black who'd entered World P3/4. Ivan's mind begins to brush across the Enforcer's.]

[Dionysus the twice-born was given his epithet by being cut from his mother's womb before his time. The priestess Semele, in her folly, had insisted upon seeing her lover Zeus in his full glory of godhood. Though she'd paid for her persistence with her life, her fetal son had been spared through the intervention of the gods.

Ivan imagined that what the woman saw was something like what he now glimpsed. Or he would've, if his mind hadn't instantly shut down. There were hundreds of them. Thousands. Perhaps an infinite number of minds all linked to the body of this man, each thinking, feeling, wondering, knowing, imagining, remembering . . . It was as if he'd stared full on into the sun. The boy hadn't even attempted to be cautious; he'd simply leapt in to snatch what he wanted to find.

His eyes go blank in the middle of Sergeant Morrison's explanation. Nearly before the man has finished, Ivan has unceremoniously collapsed in a heap on the floor. If the Enforcer had any experience whatsoever with magic, he would see the thin cocoon of Psynergy that had suddenly encased Ivan's entire body. If he remembered anything about Ivan's specific abilities, he would also have little difficulty in realizing what had just happened.]

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

There's more than one. But you're all the same.

[The words are out of his mouth before his eyes have opened. Ivan does not quite seem to be himself, although he is, at least, conscious.]

. . . Will your time ever be allowed to come?

[He still seems to be half asleep as his eyes aren't open. He certainly wouldn't have asked such an inappropriate question otherwise.]

[He nods, as if that is reasonable.]

Please get some rest, Sergeant Morrison. I apologize . . .

A consciousness that spans dimensions . . . It seems she was wrong.

[Ivan goes back to sleep. He dreams of wandering along hallways with infinite corridors. Then he throws a rock at Deimonea and forcibly changes his dream to a happy one about his friends.]
