INVESTIGATION: START!

[The scene of the crime: The library. Signs of a fight scene, Not!Pheonix Wright's dead body. Time for Ed and his minions to uncover what they can!]

I won't stop until I've investigated every nook and cranny!

Okay, let's see what we've got here.

Guybrush seems to be looking inordinately closely at a number of different things at the scene of the crime.

If you didn't know better, you could swear he was pixel hunting.

. . . You're looking very closely, ah. Guybrush, right?

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That's me! Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate (tm). Er, wait, is this a bad time to give the whole introduction?

You've gotta pay really close attention to everything in my experience. Otherwise you waste a lot of time running around trying to figure out what you missed that helps get you further in what you need to do.

O-Oh, no . . . It's fine. You can introduce yourself if you want . . . We met once, I think.

I can help, if you'd like. I can use a Psy -- magic that Reveals hidden things . . .

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Boy, THAT would've been more useful when I was sailing around the Caribbean.

Sure, give it a shot. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that if you're offered help, you take it.

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright, then.

[Fwoosh fwoosh fwoosh! If you can see magic, you can see a large circular area around Ivan suddenly turning monochrome, Guybrush.]

Look for anything that still has color . . . Or that's shining or noticeable in some other way . . .

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Besides you, you mean?

Hmm, let's see... color... color... boy, I wonder if this is how a dog feels.

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Besides me.

[Ivan himself scans the area where Guybrush was looking at, though he seems to be a bit tired. He leans forward on his staff after a short period of time.]

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, this is... this is...!

Wow! A first edition copy of "Much Ado About Nothing!" And it's still intact after the fight! Who'd have thought it?

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
What?! What did you -- . . .

[The Reveal breaks off and Ivan falls over, crashing to the floor. Good job, Guybrush.]

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa, careful there buddy. Don't want you hurting yourself.

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . Um. I'm glad you found something important to you but maybe we could concentrate on the investigation . . .

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
. . . But, uh. Just out of curiosity . . . what is Much Ado About Nothing? . . .

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there's this guy named Shakespeare, and he wrote some really awesome plays. That's one of them.

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-07 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You're excited about something like that . . . ? Really?

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh come on, it's SHAKESPEARE! Besides, you know how much some people would kill for a copy of this? Even in MY time first editions are rare! ...especially in my time, but that's not the point!

[identity profile] anemos-enigma.livejournal.com 2010-09-08 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
You can take it home to sell, then. But, um. Right now, we should probably keep looking for clues. . . .

[identity profile] big-whoop.livejournal.com 2010-09-08 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not so sure the amount I'd get for this would equal the replacement fee I'd probably have to pay to do such a thing.
