[Ed picked up the book (Fingerprinting? What's that?) and started flipping through it, but didn't have time to read it, obviously. Eventually he put it down again and used a very subtle form of alchemy, feeling in his mind what the chemical composition of the ashes was. Anything other than paper in there?]

[Zazie is looking around the room, checking out areas around but not right next to the corpse/battle ground. The others are already conducting investigation on those areas, so for now he'll look for any clues in what look like normal places. Not too likely, but you never know.]
