[Personal Investigation]

[Omi had gotten clearance to perform his own investigation of what was going on, and was on his way to Morrison's office to get the security camera recordings. It was what passed for late evening in C.O., and Omi was in his full assassin's gear. He'd opted not to carry an obvious weapon with him, so as to not unneedingly antagonize anyone, but he carried his darts, filled with tranquilizer, in his jacket.

[Omi passed by the location where the girl was killed, but there wasn't much for him to see, that everyone else hadn't gone over yet. He continued along, keeping an eye out for anyone (or anything) that might be wandering around, until he reached Morrison's office, and knocked.]

Sir? I came for the tapes.

[Omi instantly sensed that there was something dangerous near him. He pulled out a dart, and then heard the voice]

Rider-san?

...Omi? What are you doing by yourself this late at night?

[Omi gave a little sigh of relief]

I'm doing my own investigation of what's happening.

It's easier to move quickly when I'm alone. And I'm used to it.

And you are willing to take this much risk, knowing that someone has already died?

Which is why it's even more important that I do this. I need to know what's going on. I don't want any more innocents to die, and if I can do anything, I need to.

[Rider hesitates. She's not sure if she should say this, but if Omi somehow can do something...]

[Omi paused]

What do you mean?

[Rider still isn't sure if she should be divulging this much information. But desperate times call for desperate measures...and if he's Sakura's friend, she also doesn't want to see him do something he may regret, especially if it concerns Sakura.]

The shadow...is Sakura. Events at home have resulted in this. At night she turns into that shadow and attempts to devour anyone who gets too close.

You're just teasing, right? It's not funny, you know, with something this serious. Sakura-san could never hurt anyone.

Sakura and I come from two different times. I come from two years ahead of her, where she is alive and well. If we can lure the shadow back into the gate from which Sakura came, the events of our world will play out and she will be saved.

[Omi shook his head]

Let me help.

Then keep your eyes open for the shadow. If you see it, let me know immediately and I will attempt to draw it back through the gate. But do not get too close.

[Omi nods, then remembers what he's carrying]

I have the security recordings from... the other night. Would you like to see them? To see if there's a pattern... or something?

[Omi left out "or if there's anything to identify who it was"]

My apartment is close.

[Omi nodded to her, and began to slip through the halls towards the Enforcer Apartments. Watching him, it was obvious that the shadows were his natural element, as if he'd been doing this his whole life]

[Meanwhile, Rider followed closely. She, too, was skilled at moving around undetected, and with a grace and fluidity few possessed.]

[It didn't take them long to reach Omi's quarters. He unlocked the door, and turned on the light, to display his sparsely-furnished apartment. The only thing that really personalized the tiny apartment were the flowers displayed just about on every surface.]

The computer's in my room.

[He took off his shoes next to the door out of habit, and lead to his bedroom]

[Well, Rider was wearing thigh-high boots. Those wouldn't be easy to take off. So she just followed Omi into his bedroom.]

[Omi didn't mind. He unlocked the system from sleep, and stuck the disc with the footage in. For all that he'd been through and seen, he still had to look away at what had happened to Cecille.]
