[People come, People go - it's as steady as the ticking of the clock, or the rapping of Susan's pencil against her desk. 0134 had been going steady for almost thirteen years now. In the grounds is a party spread, people laughing and gossiping, bragging, and lamenting over jobs, family, home, anything.

Who did you meet in ten years? Did you find love, or rivalry? A promotion, or a litany of demerits? Or has things stay the same, save perhaps a few more gray hairs, some bags under the eyes. It's been a long time, let's see what went on]

I swear to Aqua Regina I'm never going on vacation again... *She blinks* Aha, I guess that doesn't make sense nowadays, does it?

I wouldn't think so. Ar Ru never swears by herself, that's for sure. I haven't met any of the other divinities.

[Speaking of being back, Mir's been on leave for several months. Not many people could fault her-Ar Ciel has gone from hellhole to paradise, natural beauty and human civilization combined to produce a truly extraordinary world. But she wasn't on leave because home is beautiful. After several years of courtship, engagement and finally matrimony, she's just returned from maternity leave. The twins are adorable, but she's sworn off ever having more children naturally. The father agrees, being a sensible man who understands that a woman has certain interests in not being ripped apart like that again.]

I wouldn't be back at work if I hadn't recovered from that ordeal. Although...

Until a couple of weeks ago they just slept and ate. Now there's actually some interest in the world there, and I'm missing out on some of it right now.

I suppose. But really, I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't leave, go home, and start writing professionally. I mean, I already have two bestsellers in the market here.

I know of at least one professional love goddess and a song goddess. At least, so Cocona says. She's usually reliable about these things.

But anyways, my parole officer would have a fit if I stopped coming here altogether, so I guess if I want to keep my head I'd better get back to work.

Well, other than always being a woman and not being a little girl. Obviously. She's still really smart, interested in martial arts.

[By this point Qhaellizith'd reached Enforcer rank, and thoroughly entrenched herself in CO to the point where she no longer maintains a lair back in her homeworld. She'd also got her claws in several pies, among them the General and Mecha divisions, and the budgetary bureau.]

I know! Sometimes it can't stand up to my mecha-dragon! That thing's ridiculously strong compared to even my dragon form! I keep telling the budget people they should invest in a stronger chamber, it'd be way cheaper than constant repairs! They keep thinking in short term savings rather than long-term investments! It's no wonder the budget's a mess!

You'd think they'd just want to make it so that they'd NEVER see "simulation chamber exploded" again, wouldn't you?

Oh well, I guess it's too much to ask for common sense to happen in this place. It hasn't been there for years, it's not going to start now.

Last time I talked to them about allocating enough, they said something about lost construction employment! I would think our budget problems would take higher priority!

That's just stupid though! I don't break it often enough to make make massive unemployment with them! How much work can fixing just one simulation chamber be anyway?
