Phoenix has been rather quiet since he woke up in the medical wing. He wants to think everything that happened was just some horrible nightmare, but as he overhears more and more conversations, it quickly dawns on him that it is impossible to say this is the case.
A week... If I'm right, I've been gone a whole week. Trapped in that thing...
Is it true? Was there some sort of false me running around? Is that why I see so many people looking at me with contempt when they pass? What exactly did my imposter do? And... why would they pick me, of all people? I'm new. I'm nobody. It doesn't make any sense.
I told Edgeworth I'd do everything I can to help... but in the end, I just helped create more hassle. Am I really supposed to be here?
He clutches the magatama in his hand as if all sense of his reality depends on his holding it.
((ooc: Phoenix's insecurities has a side effect: any attempts to lie to him right now will manifest psyche-locks, from one for a barely kept secret to five for a deeply guarded one. Carpe diem, as they say.))

How are you feeling today, Mr. Wright?

From the reports I've seen, your clone kept pretty busy.

Tell me about it. Poisoning? Betrayal? It's like they knew exactly what I consider to be unforgivable. I've got a lot of bridges to rebuild.

For starters, he tricked one of the Councilors into trusting him and lured her off to get kidnapped. The pointy eared girl... Nerine, I think her name is?
Next, he slipped some nasty poison into that kid Thomas... yikes, took him out in a hurry. And he was trying so hard to keep everyone organized, too.

He did... all that...?

...tell me.

At least, that's how it should have gone! I'm not sure exactly what went down in the library, but whatever happened left Councilor Edgeworth nearly comatose and the clone lying dead on the floor... poisoned himself, I believe.
And that's about it. Far as I can recall, anyway.

I... th-thanks for being honest, I... I guess... but I still don't understand. Nobody else would tell me... but why would you...?

...If you say so. Could you... let me sit and think about this for a while? I've got a lot to mull over.

Feel better soon~
[and he'll leave, his "work" done]

That sense of dread is suddenly no longer isolated merely to his concerns over the deeds of his clone.
