Guys, why did I just receive an emergency call on my PDA recalling all Diplomat Corps in the field back to CO over LABOR STRIKES? I was kind of in the middle of something.
Great. I guess the first step is to get all the stories, and then figure out who the hell's supposed to apologize to who here. Why can't we have people who react rationally to problems at CO?
Okay, look. I'm going to get folks out there, find out what their demands are. Maybe we can talk them down, or negotiate something to calm them out of a Communist Revolution here. Either way, we'll get this settled. And keep that bug away from them, okay? I don't know how much IS his fault, but let's not throw any more matches on the fire. It's burning hot enough.
That's, uh... well, they basically say the worker's rights trump all, except then it sort of gets turned around into an authoritarian concept. I think. I didn't pay THAT close attention to the subject in school.
["Authoritarian" and "totalitarian", however, are words that Cecile heard before. She knows them through context well enough and so, Phoenix's explanation gets through to the little girl very well.]
Well, okay then.
But what if it was about both worker's rights and claiming dominance over the common citizen? You said that the prior turns into the latter, but not about both being the same.
I'm asking since I don't think Tidale really cares about the workers. He just wants to be emperor again.
Sounds like it. See if you can get some agents on the ground to find out what their demands are. And I heard something about fireballs, so try and get the whole story on that. Not that there's really any acceptable excuse for trying to incinerate people, but I want to know how much of a pain in the ass it's going to be to get the right apologies where they're due.
I'll get on it. Better then having agent's take care of it, I'll split myself into some Mini Urds to get it done faster.
I do hope it's not just because of some fireballs being thrown around. I've thundered many people in my life and none of them went on strike because of it. I'm sure they are just using that as an excuse.
I'll send a few agents I like, but I would also like to see this myself as well. Also, I can use my feminine charms to get some more info from the workers.
Go out among the workers, find out what the issue is. I especially want more details about this "fireball" incident. Try to gauge the reactions of the different construction workers to different proposals while you're at it; you're probably one of our best assets as far as figuring out the actual mood.
I'll see what I can do about getting some other agents in, since our corps is still relatively small. Speaking of other agents, we should probably get their side of the story too, but I'll see what I can do about getting somebody else on that.
Enforcer PHOENIX, damnit. Look, I want you to talk with some of the agents and enforcers involved in the altercations, see if you can get the full details of what the hell happened in each situation. See if you can't find out if there were any other altercations we haven't heard about. We need to get both sides of the story before we can even think about working out an agreement, or else one side's going to definitely suffer over the other, got it?
