[Kyoko pops up on the camera, not quite looking like herself. Her hair is messier than usual and she isn't quite her usual enthusiastic self. Actually, judging by the flannel she's wearing, she hasn't gotten out of bed at all today.

She pauses for a minute, visibly thinking, then speaks up.]

Guys? Does it normally hurt when a friend goes away?

[Because Namine is gone, and she's the first person Kyoko had ever really truly considered a friend.]

Whether through error or accident, sometimes departures happen. I'm afraid no one has ever quite learned anything except the hard way to deal with it.

Perhaps in a way we're lucky here, as it's still conceivable that you can go to Ne-ne's world and see her again. Or perhaps we're not, because of how much more frequent it is that things like this happen suddenly.

[He pauses.]

Maybe it's like they say: endings give meaning to what has come before.
