Politics. Ugh. It's times like these I seriously wish I weren't a diplomat enforcer. At least when I'm investigating heady court cases, it feels MARGINALLY less like I'm throwing myself into the fire.

Well, if I'm going to have to be hauled out to take care of this crap, I might as well find out what I'm getting into. Which means hitting up some of the files we've got on this Isthul place before I even THINK of taking one step towards heading out there. It wouldn't hurt to find out some more about why the hell we have sanctions on this silver to begin with.

I foresee copious amounts of headaches in my near future, somehow.

Excuse me, Mr. Morrison? I don't suppose it'd be possible to get some files on Isthul and the silver sanctions right now, would it? I'd like to look into this situation a bit more.

Not enough. There's too many questions here. SOMETHING happened. You don't just put trade sanctions on a world the moment you meet them. It'd be like if Columbus met the Natives and immediately prevented them from giving them any resources. It makes no sense.

*Phoenix is currently in the library, hitting up their media databases -- newspapers, broadcast news, what have you -- and all of it is dated around ten years ago. He seems to be really intent on it, if you want to ask him what he's doing; there's an aura of a man on a quest here.*

I apologize, Enforcer, but the Astral Silver sanctions are classified information outside of your ranking and need to know. I would be happy to provide files to answer any other questions you have, however.

Simply put, it's a soft metal that bonds to the soul of its wielder, so as it increases in resonance with them it grows stronger and more potent. It starts as soft as silver, but by the end it can be several times the hardness and potency of astral diamond, given the proper wielder or user. In practical applications, it can be used to make appliances that get better over time, not worse.

The unmistakable sound of a bored sigh through bored lips that don't bother to open for it, comes from a different desk. Half-slumped over it is a suitably-bored-looking Twili. Cheek in her hand, elbow on the desk, hair languidly sprawed on the desk and floor.

Phoenix blinks. He peers over; ah, right. Councilor, uh, Midna, right? "What is?" he asks, getting an inkling that this is in his best interests.

"Oh these... news feeds. I could sift through years worth, and not come up with anything about this Astral Silver Sanction!" She huffs, waving some transparancies offhandedly and slapping them back down on the desk.

She looks up from her research to see Phoenix looking through his own stuff. She bites her lip a moment, debating, before approaching him.

"Erhas or Isthul?"

'If he's looking up one we might as well compare notes? I've seen him around so it's not like he's untrustworthy. I think Kyoko calls him Feefee or something like that?'

Phoenix blinks. "Eh? Oh, uh, Isthul. I mean, they said that Intelligence personnel might get dispatched there at any time, so..." He scratches the back of his head sheepishly. "Why do you ask?"

She points to the screen he's looking at which glaringly has the headline for the riots.

"Curiosity, ummm.... I think they might be connected? It's way too close and too similar not to be."

"Ah. Right." "A connection, though... I suppose that's true. But right now this one's the one I'm more likely to have to get involved in." He sighs. "Not going to lie, though, it's obvious something big's going down. If I could just find the root of all of it..."
