I'm putting together a work group for the Astral Silver issue-I still don't have all the details myself, but that's the purpose of this meeting. We need to find out what we know, what we need to know, and how to go about finding that out. So, everyone in R&D can shelve your other projects for now-this is what we are going to be working on. Anyone outside that group who feels they have information to contribute is welcome to submit it on paper or in person.

*Experience-and observing the meetings of her own project development group-had taught Jacqli well what was needed at this kind of meeting. There are no less than nine whiteboards on three walls of the room to scribble theories on, and everyone has their own color of marker. There is a coffee machine, well stocked with the strong stuff, lots of sugar cubes and non-dairy creamer. On the table itself, besides the thick binders full of general and technical information on Astral Silver is a big old plate of sweet and savory pastries. Everything from doughnuts and atapan to cornish pasties, ready to refill the flagging energy of a hard working scientist.
And right beside it is a sample of the material itself. This one however is a bit unorthodox-instead of getting a plain ingot of Astral Silver, Jacqli has somehow gotten her hands on one of the traditional weapons forged from the stuff-a Githyanki Silver Sword. She's probably starring at it while everyone files in and settles down. It'll take time to build up a critical mass of SCIENCE.*
[OOC: Let's keep the meeting in one thread-track it as you join it, and we'll all get through this with our sanity relatively intact.]

"Brigid! You're the goddess of blacksmithing, aren't you? We need to find a way to counter the properties of this metal."
The woman nods demurely before reaching to examine the sword.
"Don't... drop it in the flaming pot. Uh. Anyway, I was thinking, too, that if Astral Silver binds to someone's soul... Any countermeasures we come up with might be... potentially unhealthy."
