Phoenix has been rather quiet since he woke up in the medical wing. He wants to think everything that happened was just some horrible nightmare, but as he overhears more and more conversations, it quickly dawns on him that it is impossible to say this is the case.

A week... If I'm right, I've been gone a whole week. Trapped in that thing...

Is it true? Was there some sort of false me running around? Is that why I see so many people looking at me with contempt when they pass? What exactly did my imposter do? And... why would they pick me, of all people? I'm new. I'm nobody. It doesn't make any sense.

I told Edgeworth I'd do everything I can to help... but in the end, I just helped create more hassle. Am I really supposed to be here?

He clutches the magatama in his hand as if all sense of his reality depends on his holding it.

Oh, fine, aside from the fact that my clone was going around doing pretty much every single unforgivable act in my book and I wasn't there to do anything about it.

I guess. But I haven't been here that long. Who's to say people who haven't properly met me aren't going to wonder what exactly I'm capable of? Just the fact a clone of me could do that sort of thing at all makes me sick to my stomach.

That's... stupid. Especially when you look at how different all the other clones were! I mean, Shizune's lured Souji away to get kidnapped and I'm not gonna beat up Shizune for it or even get angry at her...

Well, you're a good person, I guess. I can't assume that will be the same way for everybody else, though. I'm a defense attorney; I've seen how false evidence and accusations can affect the way people look at others. Even if you're right, wouldn't it be better for me to assume otherwise, so I can work that much harder?
