Like the majority of worlds, though not completely normal. Certain people get the ability to summon a Persona, which is a physical being that represents your mind.

I honestly wouldn't be able to answer that. From what I've heard, there's a method through which anyone can obtain one, but I haven't met that many people who can do so.
