First, let me ask you this. Defending a client in court is a heavy responsibility. Agent Sawada's good name and freedom are riding on your shoulders. Do you believe you are ready to handle such a burden?

Definitely ready, sir. I've defended a man from death before actually...although that was more a matter of deductive reasoning and telling someone to shut up and listen than practicing law.

Very well, then. That aside, I felt I should warn you that in my profession, there are far too many people who only care about getting the defendant guilty. I am not one of those people. The only thing I am after in any case is the truth. So in the courtroom, do not consider me an enemy that needs to be defeated. Rather, look upon me as a man looking for the same thing as you -- just from another perspective.

I think that's what law's supposed to be, sir. And believe me, the truth is certainly important to me as well.
